O-1A Visa: Individuals with Extraordinary Ability or Achievement in Business, Science, Education, or Athletics

Certain individuals seeking to temporarily work in the United States on behalf of a US company may qualify under the O-1A Extraordinary Ability and Achievement visa category.

Qualifying sectors include extraordinary achievement or ability in the fields of business, science, education, or athletics. Individuals with extraordinary ability and achievement in the arts, including film and television, must utilize the O-1B visa. Information regarding actor and artist visa may be found HERE.

In addition to the temporary job offer in the United States by the US petitioner, the individual must demonstrate their extraordinary ability through sustained national or international acclaim.

Extraordinary ability in business, science, education, and athletics is defined as a level of expertise providing the individual is one of the small percentage of people who have risen to the top of their chosen field. A successful petition must be accompanied by documentation and evidence demonstrating such expertise.
