O-1B Visa For Actors

Film, television, or stage actors may qualify to work temporarily in the United States under the O-1B Visa. The O-1B visa is a nonimmigrant visa which requires the visa applicant to have a qualified job offer in the United States. A talent agency or individual production is eligible to sponsor the applicant for the visa.

In order to qualify for the O-1B visa as a television or film actor, the visa applicant must prove extraordinary achievement and recognition that is substantially above other actors in the same field. This can be evidenced by receipt of national or international awards, nominations, or well-known and leading roles in television or film productions.

To qualify for the O-1B visa a stage actor, the visa applicant must prove extraordinary ability in their art which is substantially above similar artists in the field. Demonstrating the actor is prominent, renowned, or leading is key to a successful O-1B petition and visa application.
